In the USA there aren't gas station attendants. You are responsible for pumping your own gas. Most places you swipe your credit card at the pump, then select the fuel then pump and you're done. Some places you just pump and then go inside to pay when you're done. The attached car washes are also usually without attendants. Got an extra 5 minutes and 7 dollars? Stop in at the car wash quick before moving on.
